One thing I noticed is check your folder where your sounds are and make sure each bank has the.ebl (bank name) and a sounds folder with the presets in it. If you dont have the presets it will load the.ebl bank but will say sounds have not been loaded because the sounds folder with the presets are either missing or in another location.

I found this out the hard way after I build a new 'rom' with about 30 drumkits saved them and them inside the vx merged them all into 1 bank but did not transfer the sounds (presets) as well then deleted the old folder so the drumkits loaded but there was no sounds in them. This is a pretty good vsti for free and the fact you can build your own roms for use in it ad use the effects,filters and modulation are nice. I have a added bonus as I am controlling the vx with a e-mu mp-7 so all my knobs and buttons are premapped with the midi. Also for the search function sometimes when you load the banks they were not tagged by whoever made them but this is a easy fix as load you bank then right click each sound and assign it one.
The deeper I dig into this the more I like it, yes it is a little cpu hungry but I dont use much besides ableton live, stylus rmx and this now. If you have questions on other things about this I have read the manual 3 times and played with it for hours and have alot of knowledge programming the sounds as it is the exact setup as the mp-7.
This video shows you how to convert your old E-MU Sound Central sound banks so that they will work in Proteus VX.I had bought my E-MU Xboard midi controller keyboard sometime around 2001, and it came with Proteus X2 and a number of E-MU Sound Central sound banks. Proteus X2 is now so old that it doesn't install on Windows 10, and three of the sound banks (Planet Earth, Mo' Phatt and Protean Drums) don't play.
However Proteus VX, a freely available, stripped down version of Proteus X2, does work on Windows 10. If you own Proteus X2 and these three sound banks, then you can use a small utility I wrote to convert them into a format that will work in Proteus VX. Only sound banks that have a single EBL file in their SamplePool subfolder will require conversion.Some interesting facts I found while writing the utility:- All source sample waveforms are 8-bit mono, and the sample resolutions vary widely from a few thousand Hz to 44.1 KHz.
Compare this to CD quality, which is16-bit stereo 44.1 KHz.- The files use 16-bit offset pointers, which means the files cannot be larger than 32 MB. Each of the CDs (Planet Earth, Mo' Phatt and Protean Drums) waste about 618 MB of space, or 95% of the CD.- The files on the CDs are not copy-protected. However, Proteus X2 may occasionally ask you to insert your original sound bank CDs into your CD drive for verification, before loading their presets.E-MU had put out a large library of Sound Central sound banks for sale.
